As we near the final stages of creating the iPad App for Dark Prophecy we thought we’d update you on our progress.

We know that early on we expected to have the App released on the same day as the book, and then we moved the date to beginning of November, and then stopped giving release dates altogether. What happened was, as we attempted to create an app unlike any other out there, we discovered that creating something brand new, from scratch, takes longer than expected. Much like the delays on the Boeing 787, when you’re completely reimagining and reinventing an existing product, you’re bound to hit a few roadblocks along the way.

Rather than rush something into the marketplace that wasn’t ready, we decided to wait and release a kick ass app only when we were happy with it. And I can tell you: we’re very, very close. There’s a few more little tweaks to do, a week or so of bug testing and then the Apple submission. Our goal is to have it available in the first couple weeks of January so that all you new iPad owners will have something to download come post-Christmas.
